CD Projekt RED won’t give you a multiplayer in CP2077, but this modder just might.
Ever since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the game and the developer have experienced nothing but trouble and lots of work. Thankfully the game finally reached a state of great playability and CD Projekt RED announced it won’t do any more work on the title, and move on to work on the sequels to both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher.
Many players, including me have been disappointed in the lack of an official multiplayer mode in the game. But don’t lose your hope yet, because this modder is here to the rescue. A single person operation, dubbed „CyberMP” is set to give the unofficial multiplayer mode to the fans Of the game.
The modder started to work on the multiplayer a few years ago, single-handedly bringing it to the prealpha testing for the supporters from Patreon in the last months. You can check the progress of the operation on the CyberMP YouTube channel.
What to expect?
The CyberMP project is planning to release a mode very similar to the GTA Online. That means we will be able to freeroam the whole Night City, as well as take part in the deathmatches and races through the city.
A YouTuber JuiceHead has been a long supporter of CyberMPs work and shared news about the tests with other Patreons. According to his video the work that has been already done is substancial, and the race mode and the deathmatches are very much playable, and are a lot of fun to participate in.
Hopefully we will see some other modes in the future, but as of now, the work this single person has done is admirable and worth supporting.
