PC gamers can now go wild in The Witcher 3 thanks to the new modding tool released by the game developers.
CD Projekt RED released a modding tool for The Witcher 3 PC gamers called REDkit. Yigsoft developed this modding tool in close collaboration with the CD Projekt RED team. As stated by the developers, modders will now have access to many of the features available only to the game devs until now.
Modders will be able to create places, quests, cutscenes, and much more with this new tool at their disposal. As we’ve seen time and time again, modding communities often come up with ridiculously huge and fun additions to games. Most notably Skyrim, in recent years.
CD Projekt released a short trailer for REDkit and it already contains some hilarious ideas for game mods. We can see characters being swapped and Geralt’s trusty horse, Roach, on a roof, possibly my favorite rolling joke from the game.
I’m positive we will see crazy and amazing stuff from the modding community and I simply cannot wait. Even though The Witcher 3 is 9 years old right now the developers still show it a lot of love. We got the next gen update which looks great and now we will get new stories, locations, and much more with the help of the fans. It’s heartwarming to see such dedication to the game from both creators and players.
Hopefully, we will see a modding tool for the Cyberpunk 2077 in the future. As for the future projects at CDPR, the Polish company has 5 games in the works, including The Witcher remake, a brand new IP, and sequels to both The Witcher and Cyberpunk series.
