The Danish brick toys company has presented new sets from Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog and Fortnite games.

What a time to be a Lego and video games fan. The famous toy brick manufacturer revealed a Super Mario World Mario & Yoshi set, a Shadow the Hedgehog set and as many as four Fortnite sets. The great news is, all the sets, while still pretty expensive, are much more reasonably priced, compared to The Legend of Zelda set revealed two months ago.

Super Mario World – Mario & Yoshi set

The latest Super Mario set is a tribute to the characters of Mario and Yoshi as seen in the Super Mario World game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It has been presented yesterday at the San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

The set is compiled of few layers, which when put together imitate the animation of the characters running in the game. It’s controlled by a mechanism very similar to the one we can see in the Nintendo Entertainment System Lego set with a tv and a game of the original Super Mario „playing”.

It is already a fifth Super Mario set targeted for adult users. As a big Mario fan myself I love this idea of „animating” a set. Lego truly has some godlike engineers over there.

Mario & Yoshi set contains 1,215 pieces and is priced at €129.99 / $129.99 / £114.99.

Shadow the Hedgehog set

The Sonic the Hedgehog series enthusiasts and Lego fans can now add a new piece to their display Lego series. The Shadow the Hedgehog set is aimed at an adult client, similarly to the new Super Mario set.

This set tries to recreate Shadow’s head as accurately as possible for displaying. Personally I think they could have done it a bit differently, but it’s just my opinion. I hope other Sonic fans are happy with the design.

Shadow is a fantastic and legendary character in the series and it’s awesome to see him getting his own Lego set. This is most likely connected to the third Sonic the Hedgehog movie coming to cinemas this December, in which Shadow will play a major role.

Shadow the Hedgehog set contains 720 pieces and is priced at €69.99 / $69.99 / £59.99.

Fortnite – Durrr Burger, Supply Llama, Peely Bone and Battle Bus sets

For the fans of the Fortnite game Lego has prepared a huge surprise. Players are getting four sets from the game. This is huge for any fan.

The sets continue a partnership between Epic Games and Lego. Last December Lego designs were introduced in Fortnite and now we get the other way around treatment with brick sets inspired by iconic places, characters and items from the game.

The Durrr Burger set is just a small addition to the other three which are a proper sized sets fans will love, I’m sure. The Llama and Battle Bus sets look absolutely fantastic. Unlike the Mario and Sonic sets, Fortnite bricks are aimed for children and teens, who are the majority of players enjoying the game.

Durrr Burger set contains 193 pieces and is priced at 14.99€ / 14.99$ / 12.99£.

Supply Llama set contains 691 pieces and is priced at 39.99€ / 39.99$ / 34.99£.

Peely Bone set contains 1,414 pieces and is priced at 99.99€ / 99.99$ / 89.99£.

Battle Bus set contains 954 pieces and is priced at 99.99€ / 99.99$ / 89.99£.
