Good stuff awaits PlayStation players this August. The Witcher 3, Wild Hearts, Cult of the Lamb, and more are being added to the service.
PlayStation users can be very happy with the latest additions to the PS Plus service. The White Wolf is the king on this list. And while I feel like everyone already played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, if you didn’t, it is so worth it.
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
For players not familiar with the series, The Witcher 3 follows the character of Geralt of Rivia, who is a monster hunter to hire. These hunters are called witchers.
The game is an Action RPG in a fantasy setting. The story is based on a series of books by Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski. And let me tell you, both the books and the games offer incredible storytelling. But I wouldn’t touch the Netflix series.
The studio behind The Witcher series, CD Projekt RED, created Cyberpunk 2077 as well. The Witcher 3 has won countless awards and has been praised by fans and critics for years now. It is honestly one of the best games I have ever played.
Wild Hearts
If you like Japanese and Chinese inspired games, Wild Hearts hits just the right spot here. The game was created by Omega Force, the studio from Japan, responsible for the Dynasty Warriors series.
In this Action RPG title, you will embark on a quest to fight giant monsters, either alone or in a co-op mode with up to three people. Any Monster Hunter series fans will feel right at home with Wild Hearts.
While the game strongly resembles Monster Hunter titles, there are unique crafting and building mechanics that make it more than just an MH clone game. The game looks and plays fantastic. I strongly recommend it.
Cult of the Lamb
This, already legendary, indie game lets you play as a lamb, who got resurrected and possessed by an evil deity and tasked with creating and growing a cult, which will help you set said deity free from being captive.
The game has two main gameplay pillars. First, you will create and take care of your own cult. You will build a settlement and gather followers. On the other hand you you will crawl through dungeons, fighting enemies and searching for the four main antagonists.
The game just received a new free update, which added a co-op mode. Plus it has a few DLCs worth checking. As usual with indie titles, the game is a great example of labor of love.
Other games
The three main games are the cream of the crop. Each of them is worth playing immediately. Other than those, there are a few more very interesting games being added to the PS Plus catalog, like Ride 5, an intense motorcycle racing game, Watch Dogs 2, a Ubisoft action title, in which you play as a hacker, Marcus Holloway and many more.
Sword Art Online fans will be happy to hear that four SAO titles are coming to PS4 and PS5. There are also three TimeSplitters games coming, which are awesome classics.
