Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, and Dungeons of Hinterberg, are all available to download right now.

Xbox just added three new games to their online subscription service. It’s worth noting, all of them are really cool titles. Here’s what you can play now on Xbox, PC and through cloud.

This Capcom game has made me fall in love with it immidiately. Kunitsu-Gami is an action-strategy game, with strong Ōkami vibes. You take control of Soh, a warrior who takes on a quest of defending a divine maiden, named Yoshiro.

The action takes place on a mountain which got covered in an ominous substance, the defilement. The mountain is divided into stages, in which you need to protect Yoshiro, trying to get to the Torii gates, whilst fighting of the evil spirits, called Seethe.

The game has a day and night cycle. During the day you will recruit villagers to help you on your quest and prepare for the battle in the night. After each stage you can upgrade your skills and special powers in the hub in the mountains.

The gameplay is unique in its gameplay mechanics, and probably not for everybody, but if you like strategy games or are a fan of Ōkami, I highly recommend it.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

In Flintlock you play as Nor Vanek, a hero destined to save humanity from the wrath of the old Gods. The game is a soulslite, in which you will fight against all kinds of enemies and bosses using both melee weapons as well as flintlock firearms.

The most interesting part of the game for me is the inspiration for the old Gods the developers took from the ancient Mesopotamian pantheon. It’s refreshing to see someone following any other religion than Christian, Greek or Egiptian.

The game could be a great entry for anyone looking to try some of the Soulslike games, but could be intimidated by the difficulty level. Worth noting is, this is not a AAA title, and while not as polished as other games in the genre, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a title worthy of your time.

Dungeons of Hintenberg

If you’re tired of all the killing, death and gore, you can find a little peace of mind in Dungeons of Hintenberg, an action RPG which takes place in the beautiful Austrian Alps. While you still find a good portion of fighting in this game, the vibe is completely different than other traditional RPGs.

You take the role of Luisa, a young lawyer from Vienna, who escapes the exhausting city life in search of some peace in the mountain town of Hintenberg. The twist is, you’re thrown into the town hit by an earthquake and taken over by magic. Instead of chilling in the mountains, you will crawl dungeons. But you’ll also do much more than that.

When tired of exploring mountains and dungeons, you can invest yourself in the life of the locals and visit many locations the town of Hintenburg has to offer.

The game is full of intricately designed levels with tons of satysfying puzzles to solve and many adversaries to slay. What impressed me the most though, is the artstyle. The Austrian Alps have never been so beautiful. Even the dungeons are inviting, with Hintenberg’s lovely graphics.
