Game Pass Standard lands between Game Pass core and Game Pass Ultimate both in price and features.
Folks at Xbox are working hard to regain their player base this generation. And that’s good. We now get a brand new option in the Game Pass online service, which is called Game Pass Standard.
So what does the Standard bring to the table. It’s aimed at the console players and It lands exactly between Game Pass Core and Game Pass Ultimate. In short, it means, most Game Pass Titles are available in Standard (with the exeption of a few newest games), you can play online (but not through cloud) and have access to member discounts (like in Game Pass Ultimate). What’s also missing in Standard is EA Play, but personally, I wouldn’t cry about that.
Here’s how the pricing for each option looks like:
- PC Game Pass – $11.99/month
- Game Pass Core – $9.99/month
- Game Pass Standard – $14.99/month
- Game Pass Ultimate – $19.99/month
The new Game Pass Standard lands exaclty between Core and Ultimate in pricing. With what is offered in it it’s a reasonable balance. Whether or not the Game Pass as a whole is fairly priced is to be judged by you guys.
I’m glad to see Xbox trying to get the gamers trust back. I hope for a more equal fight between them and PlayStation in the next generation. Especially since Sony is clearly pushing the boundaries with players lately, with PS5 Pro being priced at $700 for a digital only console and the price hike of the DualSense controller. As for Nintendo, they’re in their own league now, and that’s awesome. It’s a wild hardware ride this generation. I wish there were more games to play on so many consoles.
